Frogs, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails!!

I had the honor of co-hosting a baby shower for my very good friend Ally!  It was so fun coming up with the shower theme and making all the decorations and invitations to pull everything together!

Ally threw me my baby shower - it seems like such a long time ago.  She made a very cute diaper wreath in a nautical theme for the door.  I decided to reuse the wreath, however, I changed out some of the ribbon and added the painted characters and initial to go along with the theme.  I think that it turned out so cute!

We used pastels in blue, green and yellow.  Using a color scheme along with the theme really helps to pull everything together and makes it look cohesive.

The table was set with a blue and white chevron table runner that I made on top of a simple white table clothe. The food was displayed in white and silver serving dishes.  The plates, napkins, and cups are from Party City in the Robin's Egg Blue color.

A "It's a Boy!" banner is a great way to accent an area for a baby shower.  I made this banner with fabric, heat and bond for the letters and ribbon. The flags are sewn together and the letters are appliquéd to each flag.  This did take some time to make, but I think that it turned out great!

All in all, I believe that it was a very successful shower and that Ally had a great time being showered by all her friends and co-workers!  I can't wait to meet your lil man!!

until next time,

Amelia

Cheers to 30 Years, Nicole!

My good friend Nicole turned 30 recently!  Her sweet hubby asked me to help design and decorate a special birthday party for her.  With a summer birthday, Nicole always felt that her birthday parties weren't as fun due to everyone taking summer vacations.  I wanted to help make this her best birthday party yet!  I believe that she felt special and enjoyed her special day!

Here are a few photos of the decorations and food.

Cheers to Thirty Years!!

Happy Birthday my sweet friend!

My little man turned 2 earlier this year and I was so excited to decorate and design a great party for him!  He loves firetrucks, firemen, sirens - the whole bit!

New bedding for O's new bed!

So, I guess it's time...time to take down the crib and put O's in a BIG BOY BED! I honestly can't believe how well/fast he adjusted to the new bed.

We included lil man in the mattress search, as well as, some of the bed construction. Once we completed the bed he hopped up in it with the biggest smile! He was so proud of his new bed!

I'm in the process of picking out the duvet. I love Pottery Barn Kids, and they have waaaay too many cute options. His room has a nautical feel and I don't want to stray too far from that.

Here are a few options that I've been thinking about:

I'm in love with this car duvet, but it's not very nautical. But, its sooo cute!!

I love these options! Good thing he doesn't need a big blanket, yet - this Momma is a little indecisive!

Let me know what you think!

I'll post pics of us building the bed soon!

xoxo
